A NEW team to drive the implementation of the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) has been announced.

Queensland cattle grain and grass-fed cattle producer, Bryce Camm, will chair a seven-member Sustainability Steering Group (SSG) made up of business leaders from across the beef value chain, including grass fed production, grain fed, processing, marketing and live export.

It’s a project of the Red Meat Advisory Council.

Mr Camm is chief executive officer of Camm Agricultural Group, Vice chair of Beef Australia and a member of the executive of the Australian Lot Feeders Association and was the Rabobank Emerging Leader Award recipient in 2014.

He is joined by: Greg Campbell, retiring CEO of S. Kidman and Co, Jim Cudmore, who led the initial review of how the Australian beef industry should promote its sustainability credentials which was the precursor to this group being formed, NSW cattle producer Tony Hegarty, managing director of Super Butcher Susan McDonald, general manager for livestock at Harvest Road Beef Kim McDougall and consultant and lawyer Dr Michael Maxwell.

The new SSG has an outstanding mix of skills, supply chain experience and an understanding of regional and sector differences Australia-wide to drive sustainability outcomes through the ABSF, according to RMAC.
