Over 30 pens made over $200/head on Tuesday, meaning more than 10,000 lambs have sold over that price in the last four weeks.

A total of 17,370 lambs and 4707 sheep were presented to the buying group, whose strong presence created high competition.

Chris Frawley, Leigh Creek, topped the market with his pen of 38 lambs, that were estimated at 37 kilograms dressed weight.

TB White & Sons agent Xavier Bourke said it was a fantastic result.

“The lambs were purchased out of Ballarat at Christmas time, and finished on rape and turnips, resulting in the prices seen here today,” Mr Bourke said.

The increasingly high demand for lambs and sheep is ensuring the market at CVLX is consistently strong.- CVLX operations manager Jonathan Crilly

CVLX operations manager Jonathan Crilly said he wasn’t surprised by the results.

“The quality of sheep and lambs at CVLX today was outstanding,” Mr Crilly said.
